Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he welcomes the Lebanese Cabinet’s decision, made earlier this month, to work towards the disarmament of Hezbollah by the end of 2025. Netanyahu indicated that Israeli soldiers could withdraw from the country if Lebanon takes such a step. He emphasized that Israel would reciprocate by gradually reducing its military presence in southern Lebanon if Lebanon undertakes the necessary actions to disarm Hezbollah.
