Netanyahu, Trump: Iran Nuclear Sites Must Be Dismantled

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu briefed the public after speaking with President Donald Trump about Iran’s nuclear program. The two men agreed that enrichment facilities must be shut down and all enriched material removed from Iranian territory. Trump also backed Israel’s right to act against threats from Lebanon and elsewhere. Netanyahu posted that the call included plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and finalize a nuclear agreement. He thanked Trump for U.S. support during recent operations against Iranian aggression. The Israeli leader said the security partnership between the two countries has proven unbreakable. Both officials insist Iran must never possess nuclear arms. A possible draft deal may call for ending fighting on multiple fronts, yet Netanyahu remains firm on Hezbollah’s complete disarmament. Even after last month’s ceasefire, Israeli strikes continue in Lebanon, drawing retaliatory fire from Hezbollah. The conversation shows that Washington and Jerusalem are aligned on the core demand: zero nuclear capability for Tehran.
