A month has passed since the reported enforced disappearance of Baloch student Mahjabeen Baloch, and her whereabouts remain unknown. The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has reported that Mahjabeen was taken by state agency personnel on May 29 at Civil Hospital Quetta. Her brother, Younus Baloch, has also been missing since being detained by security forces at their residence in Basima a week prior to Mahjabeen’s disappearance. The VBMP emphasizes that neither sibling has been presented in court, a severe breach of human rights, urging the Balochistan government and federal authorities to ensure their safe return. Sabiha Baloch from the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has voiced concerns, highlighting the lack of official response and the injustice of enforced disappearances, especially in the case of a polio-afflicted 24-year-old. Human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, have condemned the abduction and called for her immediate release and a thorough investigation.
