Pakistanis Named in US Voting Integrity Case Ahead of 2024 Ballot
Federal prosecutors have identified three Pakistani nationals as part of a broader election‑fraud investigation that spans more than a dozen states.
Jamal Ahmed, 50, and Nighat Jamal, 47, are alleged to have voted in Pennsylvania’s Eastern District during the 2024 election while holding only permanent‑resident status. Arshad Zuberi, 69, a permanent resident of Ohio, faces accusations of illegal voting in the state’s northern federal district after falsely claiming US citizenship on registration forms filed in 2015 and 2016.
The Justice Department’s filing links these three individuals to 16 total defendants, including a New Mexico resident accused of forging a ballot, an Alabama resident who allegedly voted despite not being a citizen, and a North Carolina citizen charged with double voting in the presidential contest.
The case also references foreign nationals from Canada, the UK, Portugal, Poland, the Philippines and Cuba, underscoring concerns about voter‑registration abuse, voting on behalf of deceased persons and repeated voting across state boundaries as the nation approaches a critical election cycle.
