During an address to the Parliament of Ghana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended an invitation to Ghanaian lawmakers to visit India’s newly constructed Parliament building. He highlighted the nation’s commitment to women’s empowerment, citing the Women’s Reservation Act of 2023, which reserves one-third of all seats for women in the Lok Sabha, state legislative assemblies, and the Legislative Assembly of Delhi. Modi also emphasized India’s economic growth trajectory, anticipating its rise as the world’s third-largest economy. He underscored the country’s political stability, noting the recent re-election of the same government for a third consecutive term, a feat achieved after over six decades. Furthermore, he drew parallels between African achievements and India’s space exploration milestones, mentioning India’s Chandrayaan mission and ongoing experiments by an Indian astronaut in space. Modi also addressed global challenges, including climate change, pandemics, terrorism, and cybersecurity, advocating for reforms in global governance. He described India as the ‘Mother of Democracy,’ highlighting its democratic principles and diversity. He also spoke on the warm relations between India and Ghana and the contributions of Indians in Ghana’s society.
