PM Modi Highlights Global South Role in Future Tech at BRICS Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the platform of the 18th BRICS summit to stress that the Global South must have a decisive voice in shaping future technologies. In his address, he reiterated that the New Delhi Declaration 2026 is built on the principle of inclusive progress, ensuring that emerging economies are not left behind in the race for AI, quantum computing and green energy solutions.

Modi also pointed out that the distance between policy decisions and real‑world results can only be bridged through joint responsibility and transparent mechanisms. He called for reforms in global institutions to reflect a more balanced representation of developing nations.

In a symbolic gesture, the Indian prime minister launched two commemorative stamps marking the 20‑year anniversary of the BRICS alliance, reinforcing the message that cultural symbols and diplomatic actions go hand‑in‑hand in fostering deeper cooperation.
