A devastating car crash in Sydney’s Hornsby suburb has resulted in the tragic loss of a pregnant Indian-origin woman and her unborn child. Samanvitha Dhareshwar, 33 and eight months pregnant, was walking with her husband and young son when the horrific incident occurred on Friday. Authorities report that the family was crossing a footpath when a Kia Carnival vehicle slowed to allow them passage. Tragically, a BMW sedan, allegedly driven by 19-year-old Aaron Papazoglu, collided with the rear of the Kia, propelling it forward and striking Ms. Dhareshwar with significant force. Paramedics provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting her to Westmead Hospital. Despite extensive medical intervention, both Samanvitha and her unborn baby succumbed to their injuries. Ms. Dhareshwar, an IT systems analyst, was just weeks away from welcoming her second child. The driver of the striking vehicle has been arrested and faces serious charges, including dangerous driving causing death and loss of a foetus. Investigations into the precise circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
