Qatar Seeks Enhanced Maritime Security in Talks with Kuwait, Austria

Doha, September 14 – Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani engaged in two separate telephone dialogues with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al‑Sabah and Austria’s Federal Minister for European and International Affairs Beate Meinl‑Reisinger.

In the call with Kuwait, both officials reviewed the current state of cooperation, highlighting achievements in trade, investment, and humanitarian projects. They discussed the necessity of joint diplomatic endeavors to lower regional tensions and to uphold security and stability in the Gulf. The Qatari side emphasized its endorsement of any diplomatic pact that safeguards safe and open maritime routes, a key component for regional prosperity.

The conversation with Austria followed a similar trajectory. Prime Minister Al Thani evaluated Qatar‑Austria relations, pointing to potential growth areas such as renewable energy, tourism, and academic collaboration.
