Rahul Kumar’s Frankfurt Role Bridges Indian Culture and German Communities

In his capacity as Frankfurt’s deputy head, Rahul Kumar is positioning himself as a cultural liaison between the Indian diaspora and the broader German society. Kumar, who contributed to the centennial RSS book, said his new administrative responsibilities involve connecting residents, addressing local concerns and promoting cross‑cultural understanding.

He pointed out that the RSS’s social service model, mirrored by the HSS in Europe, offers a template for community building. By facilitating cultural events, language classes and youth projects, Kumar believes he can help children of Indian origin stay rooted in their heritage while integrating into German life.

Kumar also reflected on the bilateral ties between India and Germany, noting frequent delegations and state‑level agreements that have fostered economic and educational cooperation. He cited his own recent trip to India with a German state delegation, where they signed memoranda with Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

The deputy head emphasized the importance of festivals such as Diwali and Holi, describing how these celebrations light up faces and reinforce identity among the diaspora. He argued that the HSS’s cultural platform serves as a bridge, enabling youngsters to experience Indian traditions even far from their ancestral land.

Looking ahead, Kumar said his focus will be on expanding youth engagement programs, creating more opportunities for Indian‑origin students to collaborate with German peers, and leveraging his political role to amplify the spirit of service that the RSS promotes.
