Relatives of Missing Pilgrims Urge Prompt Rescue Following Nepal Tragedy

The aftermath of a sudden natural disaster in Nepal has left several Indian pilgrims stranded, prompting their families to demand swift rescue measures.

Surat residents Parash Patel, his wife Jyoti and daughter Meenakshi vanished after their planned departure for the Kailash‑Manasarovar trek on August 25. Their mother, Sushila Patel, explained that the family had completed immigration procedures and warned that they would not be reachable during the ascent.

In Gandhinagar, the family of Amita Amin, along with Tejal and Jitendra Patel, also lost contact after the incident. They had been on the Friendship Bridge a short time before the calamity struck.

Both sets of relatives have approached the Gujarat state administration, emphasizing the need for real‑time updates and coordinated rescue efforts. They have also highlighted that one of the relatives, Meenakshi’s uncle, had previously experienced administrative hurdles during a Kedarnath pilgrimage, reinforcing their caution.

Authorities have assured continuous support, but the families remain anxious, urging the government to prioritize locating the missing pilgrims and ensuring their safe return.
