Russian Spokesperson Confirms No Refusal to Resume Ukraine Negotiations

On September 7, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia has not dismissed the prospect of reviving the trilateral dialogue on Ukraine. He noted that statements from Kyiv and comments made by U.S. Special Envoy for Peace Jared Kushner have been taken into account, and that Moscow remains open to restarting the process.

Peskov characterized the recent three‑hour meeting at the Kremlin between President Vladimir Putin, and American diplomats Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as a "constructive step" toward peace. He also hinted that a future conversation between President Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump could be on the agenda, reinforcing Russia's willingness to explore all channels that may lead to a settlement.

The trilateral talks, previously conducted in Abu Dhabi and Geneva, have been on hold since February. The Kremlin's latest statement could mark a tentative move toward re‑engagement, pending favorable diplomatic conditions.
