Sam Pitroda, the head of the Congress Overseas Department, has stirred controversy with his recent statements. In a video, Pitroda stated that he feels at home in Pakistan. He emphasized that he doesn’t feel like he’s in a foreign country when he visits Pakistan. This statement comes at a time when relations between India and Pakistan are strained.
Pitroda suggested that India should improve relations with Pakistan through dialogue. This advice comes despite India’s decision not to engage in any talks with Pakistan. Following Operation Sindoor, India has refrained from responding to Pakistan’s attempts at communication.
Pitroda also commented on Nepal and Bangladesh, emphasizing the need to improve relations with these countries. He stated that a successful foreign policy is one where everything is well with your neighbors.
Pitroda questioned the government, asking if everything is currently fine between India and Nepal and Bangladesh. He indicated that India’s relations with Nepal and Bangladesh are also strained.
