The recently established ‘Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement’ between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, which stipulates that any act of aggression against either nation is to be considered an attack on both, has ignited concern within Iran. Experts suggest that this new pact could potentially ensnare Pakistan. They believe that Saudi Arabia may intend to utilize Pakistan’s resources in the ongoing conflict against the Houthi rebels in Yemen, thereby altering the strategic dynamics of the region.
