SCO marks 25th anniversary as China pushes deeper regional cooperation

Spokesperson Lin Qian highlighted that the 2026 summit in Bishkek will underline the SCO’s 25‑year milestone. The organization, originally founded to foster mutual trust among member states, has evolved into a platform for extensive security, development and connectivity projects across Eurasia. China will use the summit to propose a new chapter of cooperation, focusing on joint infrastructure, digital integration and collective responses to emerging global challenges.
