SCO Leaders Adopt Bishkek Declaration and Approve Charter Amendments

At the close of the 26th SCO summit, the leaders signed the Bishkek Declaration, a comprehensive document that reaffirms the bloc’s commitment to security, economic cooperation, cultural exchange and institutional development. In addition, the heads of state authorised amendments to the SCO Charter and its protocol, updating the legal framework to reflect contemporary challenges.

A total of 28 documents were adopted, covering areas such as counter‑terrorism, trade facilitation, joint scientific projects, and the promotion of people‑to‑people contacts. The amendments modernise decision‑making procedures and expand the scope of cooperation, positioning the SCO to respond more effectively to emerging geopolitical and economic trends.
