The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of new Chief Justice in five different High Courts of the country in a meeting held on Monday today. According to the copy of the order issued by the collegium –
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, who is currently serving as a judge in the Madhya Pradesh High Court, has been recommended to appoint him as the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. Justice Vibhu Bakhru, who is a judge of the Delhi High Court, has been recommended to be appointed to the post of Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. Justice Ashutosh Kumar, who is working in the Patna High Court, has been recommended to appoint him as the Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court. Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, who is originally from the Gujarat High Court and is currently serving in Patna, has been recommended to appoint him as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court. Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, who is serving in the Himachal Pradesh High Court, has been recommended to appoint him as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. This appointment is being made to fill the vacancy caused by the transfer of the Chief Justice in the coming time there.
After being approved by the President of India, the concerned judges will discharge new obligations in their respective High Court.
