Seoul Sends Eight‑Member KDRT Unit to Support Nepal’s Post‑Disaster Recovery

An eight‑person Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT) is set to depart from South Korea on a C‑330 military aircraft, reaching Nepal on Friday. The contingent includes officials from the foreign ministry, fire‑fighters, KOICA personnel and a health team.

During its seven‑day stay, the team will concentrate on reconstruction and rehabilitation tasks rather than search‑and‑rescue. The move comes after a massive flood and landslide on August 26 left 26 South Korean workers missing near the Nepal‑Tibet border, prompting Nepal to request additional help for rebuilding efforts.
