Series of Kidnappings, Rapes and Murders Highlights Child Abuse Crisis

Recent investigations have uncovered a disturbing pattern of extreme violence against children. On September 9, a 10‑year‑old girl from Pubna Sadar vanished and her body was found in a pond seven days later. Police say she was raped before being killed, and two suspects have been detained. The following day, a 7‑year‑old girl from Jamalpur's Mdarang disappeared after school; her corpse was discovered beneath the floor of a classmate’s home. The classmate’s father confessed to raping and murdering the child; two more individuals were arrested. ASK also reported that in four separate cases, other family members killed seven children. These incidents form part of a broader trend of sexual assault followed by homicide, lethal physical exploitation, and fatal domestic disputes.
