Sinbax-2 2026 Ends in Cambodia: India Gears Up for Pragati Drill

After two weeks of intense joint training in Cambodia, Indian and Cambodian forces have concluded the counter-terrorism exercise Sinbax-2 2026. Held at the Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas training centre, the drill emphasized practical skills in drone operations, mortar fire, and sniper engagements. A total of 280 soldiers participated, with the Indian contingent of 120 troops drawn largely from the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment. The exercise, which began on May 4 and ended on May 16, was designed to improve combined operational effectiveness in challenging environments such as dense jungles and semi-urban zones. Both nations focused on refining tactics for anti-terror campaigns while exchanging best practices in modern warfare techniques. The successful completion of Sinbax-2 is viewed as another milestone in India-Cambodia defence relations. Now attention turns to India's upcoming role as host of the multinational military exercise 'Pragati.' Scheduled for May 18-31 at Umroi in Meghalaya, Pragati will bring together military units from 12 partner countries. With the theme 'Resolute, Relentless and United,' the exercise will provide a platform for sharing expertise in counter-terror operations, joint strategy development, and disaster relief coordination.
