Singaporean Maid Fined Heavily for Work Pass Infraction

A 53-year-old Filipino maid in Singapore, Pido Erlinda Ocampo, was penalized with a fine of 13,000 Singaporean dollars, equivalent to approximately Rs 8.8 lakh, for violating her work pass terms. The violation involved working for a different employer during her designated rest days. The Ministry of Manpower initiated an investigation into the matter, citing a breach of the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
