A notable achievement is the establishment of an Indian‑chaired Ayurvedic department at the West Indies University, marking the first dedicated seat for traditional Indian medicine in the Caribbean.

Jaishankar also highlighted progress made since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit last July, when agreements on laptop donations, academic chairs and prosthetic limb supplies were reached. The new agreements build on that foundation, aiming to improve public health and sustainable energy use across the islands.
