Tech executives say India can become global AI hub and nurture new generation of entrepreneurs

Industry leaders in Seattle have voiced confidence that India is on the cusp of emerging as a worldwide hub for artificial intelligence innovation. Rhythm’s Vaitri Valur and VIM’s Anand Ishwaran pointed out that the country’s strong digital foundation and deep engineering talent pool give it a competitive advantage.

Ishwaran noted that India’s digital identity system and nationwide payment network have already created the essential scaffolding for large‑scale tech change. He argued that the nation now has a rare chance to produce AI‑driven results that can be shared globally for the benefit of humanity.

Both executives attributed the progress to the Prime Minister’s leadership, citing the creation of a digital infrastructure that serves over a billion users as a remarkable feat. They also emphasized the ability to develop AI‑based tools for critical sectors such as farming, health care, and public services—applications that can raise yields, curb epidemics, and deliver clear societal gains.

Valur stressed that while job creation remains important, equal focus must be placed on building an ecosystem that supports budding entrepreneurs. With access to technology, skilled talent, and AI platforms, India can generate millions of new founders. The Indian‑American community, he added, can play a vital role by sharing expertise, mentoring startups, and shaping policies that help India adapt to fast‑moving technological trends.
