Telephonic talks between Indian NSA Ajit Doval and Iran’s Mohsin Rezaei
On Monday evening, Dr. Mohsin Rezaei, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, held a telephone conversation with India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. The dialogue focused on the evolving security landscape in South Asia and the broader international arena, as well as areas where both countries share strategic concerns.
The discussion came shortly after Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Fatali’s comments that Tehran was actively pursuing the outcomes of the BRICS summit, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ebrahim Raisi met. Fatali had indicated that the Iranian president had already directed the relevant ministries to act on the summit’s decisions.
India’s concerns over maritime security were also reiterated. In July, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar spoke with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, emphasizing that any attacks on commercial shipping must be condemned and prevented.
