Three‑Day Sri Lanka Tour Highlights Regional Security Cooperation

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh began a three‑day official tour of Sri Lanka on September 8, aiming to address a range of bilateral and regional security issues. The schedule features bilateral talks with the Sri Lankan leadership, focused on defence, maritime partnership, and broader strategic alignment in the Indian Ocean.

The minister will also interact with the Indian community in Colombo, underscoring the social dimension of the relationship. According to the Ministry of Defence, the visit seeks to accelerate the momentum of traditional friendly ties, with special emphasis on defence training, capability development, and maritime safety.
