Minns called for easier visa processes for Indian tourists coming to Australia, noting that business groups and airlines have faced difficulties for the past 18 months. He said roughly 180,000 Indian visitors travel to NSW each year, staying about 8 million nights and contributing around US$60 million to the state’s economy. Adding a daily direct flight to Sydney could bring an extra 30,000‑40,000 tourists annually, generating an estimated US$25 million in additional economic activity. Expanding direct air links and simplifying entry requirements are now top priorities for the NSW administration.
