Trade Goal Set at $25 billion by 2030 in India-Vietnam Engagements
Prime Minister Narendra Modi used his meeting with Vietnam’s Prime Minister to set an ambitious economic benchmark for the partnership. Both governments pledged to work toward a bilateral trade volume of $25 billion by the end of the decade, a sharp increase from current levels.
To achieve this, they will focus on reducing non‑tariff barriers, facilitating smoother customs procedures and promoting investment in sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and information technology. Business delegations from both sides are expected to convene later this year to identify concrete projects.
The trade drive is part of a broader agenda that includes joint efforts in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and manufacturing, aiming to deepen economic interdependence.
