Transport Minister Calls for Patience as Flight Schedules Gradually Normalize

During a press briefing at Soekarno‑Hatta International Airport, Transport Minister Dudi Purwanto addressed the media about the ongoing recovery of air services. He explained that the first aircraft to operate after the ash clearance was a cargo plane, and passenger flights will follow once each aircraft's airworthiness is confirmed.

"We ask travelers and the general public to exercise a little patience," Purwanto said. "Our priority is to ensure that every flight that leaves the ground is safe for both crew and passengers."

He added that while some routes have resumed, the full flight schedule may take additional days to return to pre‑eruption levels. The ministry is working closely with airport operators to expedite runway cleaning and to keep the public informed of any further changes.
