Tree Planting and Cleanliness Campaign Kickoff at Reykjavik Embassy

During the Developed India Run, the embassy grounds witnessed the planting of a young tree as part of the “One Tree for Mother” drive. The sapling, placed by Uttar Pradesh leaders Satish Mahana and Kunwar Manvendra Singh, symbolizes growth, responsibility and respect for the environment.

The same day marked the launch of the “Cleanliness is Service 2026” initiative, scheduled to run from September 17 to October 2. Ambassador R. Ravindran formally inaugurated the campaign, taking an oath with embassy staff to maintain cleanliness in and around the mission.

Both activities reinforce the embassy’s message that personal health, environmental care and civic duty are interlinked components of India’s journey toward a developed future.
