During an appearance at ‘The People’s House Exhibit,’ former US President Donald Trump compared the prospect of a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin to the challenge of mixing oil and vinegar. Trump highlighted the inherent difficulties, drawing on the immiscible nature of the two substances due to their differing chemical properties, with oil being hydrophobic and vinegar being hydrophilic. He expressed his desire to see the two leaders collaborate to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, a conflict that has resulted in significant loss of life. Trump stated his willingness to mediate a peace deal, referencing his previous success in resolving seven other conflicts and his determination to end this war. He cautioned that if a deal isn’t reached and Russia is deemed responsible, he would consider imposing economic sanctions, including tariffs on Russian oil.
