President Donald Trump, during a Wednesday interview on The Scott Jennings Radio Show, stated India had offered a “no tariff” deal. He defended his decision to impose a 50% tariff on Indian goods, claiming superior knowledge of tariffs. Trump criticized India, labeling it the “most tariffed nation” globally. He asserted that China, India, and Brazil all employ tariffs that negatively impact the United States. He further claimed that India’s offer of zero tariffs came about because of his own tariff policies. Earlier, he had described the trade relationship between the two nations as “totally one-sided.”
