Former US President Donald Trump has asserted that significant damage was inflicted upon Iranian nuclear facilities following the US-led ‘Operation Midnight Hammer.’ Citing satellite imagery, Trump described the damage as ‘monumental’ and used the term ‘obliteration.’ He highlighted the depth of the damage, particularly focusing on structures embedded deep underground. These remarks came after reports of ‘precision strikes’ on key Iranian nuclear sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. In addition to the claims about the nuclear sites, Trump also hinted at potential ‘regime change’ in Iran, questioning the current leadership’s ability to improve the nation. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the success of the operation, stating that the strikes were aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear program and did not target Iranian troops or civilians. Hegseth emphasized that the operation’s focus was on setting back Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
