President Donald Trump has shifted from claiming credit for preventing a potential conflict between India and Pakistan. Speaking to the press at the White House, Trump stated that the de-escalation was due to the decisions of the leaders involved.
Trump highlighted that ‘two smart people’ – referring to the leaders of the nuclear-armed nations – chose to avoid war. He acknowledged meeting with Pakistan’s Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir and mentioned his earlier meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi. Trump expressed his gratitude, emphasizing that these leaders prevented a potential war. He is also concerned over the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
