During a press briefing aboard Air Force One, former US President Donald Trump stated unequivocally that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons. He believes that Iran is currently not focused on nuclear enrichment and weaponization. Trump also expressed his view that Iran would become a prominent trading partner, particularly given its substantial oil reserves. He indicated a preference for de-escalation, suggesting that regime change would likely result in chaos, which he wishes to avoid. Trump previously posted on Truth Social urging Israel to honor the ceasefire agreement. He also indicated that Israeli jets would turn around while airborne and perform a ‘friendly plane wave’ to Iran. He subsequently cautioned Israel against violating the ceasefire, warning against any attacks.
