Trump stated he had “extensive discussions” with Zelenskyy and spoke “indirectly” with Putin, expressing his intent to organize a trilateral meeting. He suggested that if the day’s discussions went well, he would set up the meeting, even offering to participate. Trump emphasized his goal of saving lives, citing the Alaska Summit as a catalyst for potential peace. He mentioned Putin’s agreement to security guarantees for Ukraine as a key point of consideration, alongside potential territorial exchanges based on the current conflict lines. Trump believes a peace agreement is attainable in the near future and stated Putin also wants to make some positive moves. Zelenskyy noted the good conversation with Trump and that they discussed sensitive points, including security guarantees. Zelenskyy thanked Trump and indicated that a trilateral meeting would be welcome.
