Former US President Donald Trump addressed his recent remarks on Truth Social, where he stated the US had potentially “lost” India and Russia to China. Speaking to the media at the White House, Trump clarified his stance. He expressed his disappointment with India’s purchase of Russian oil and referenced the 50% tariffs the US has imposed on Indian goods. When asked about his earlier post blaming the US for losing India to China, Trump responded that he didn’t believe this to be the case. He added that he maintains a positive relationship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recalling a recent meeting in the Rose Garden. The comments come shortly after a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting that included India, Russia, and China.
