President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. During the meeting, Trump discussed the ‘Gaza Peace Plan,’ stating that the peace deal is ‘beyond very close.’ He asserted that every Muslim and Arab nation desires peace in the Middle East and that they are all supportive of the plan. Trump mentioned that these nations, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, are actively involved in the process, based on his discussions with their leaders. Earlier in the day, Trump received Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House. On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump had previously expressed optimism, stating that there is a real opportunity for greatness in the Middle East and that ‘all are on board for something special, first time ever. WE WILL GET IT DONE!!!’ The United States recently proposed a 21-point peace plan to address the Gaza conflict, coinciding with ongoing deadlocked talks between Israel and Hamas following Israeli airstrikes. This proposal also comes amid international pressure to end the war, which commenced on October 7, 2023, after the Hamas attack. The Gaza health ministry reports that over 66,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israel’s bombardment of the enclave.
