Former US President Donald Trump has stated that Hamas has a window of three to four days to respond to a proposed peace agreement. He indicated that Arab and Muslim nations, along with Israel, have already signaled their agreement. The only remaining step is Hamas’s approval. Trump warned that the consequences could be severe if Hamas does not accept the terms.
Trump emphasized his desire for the immediate return of all hostages and expressed a hope for improved conduct from Hamas. He described the effort as unprecedented, extending beyond Gaza and encompassing the entire Middle East.
Trump has presented a 20-point plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also shown support for the plan. The focus is now on Hamas’s response. Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt, have welcomed the proposal, seeing it as a chance for regional peace if the conditions are met and a safe release is possible.
The deal’s main conditions are explicit. Hamas must disarm its military wing, destroy its tunnels and weapons facilities, and will not be given a political role in any future government. Hamas members who are ready to embrace peaceful lives and publicly apologize may receive amnesty.
Israeli forces will gradually withdraw from Gaza, and borders will be opened to allow for humanitarian aid and investment. According to the deal, Hamas must release the 20 living hostages and the remains of two dozen deceased hostages within 72 hours. There is also a provision for an exchange for the release of hundreds of Gazans.
If Hamas rejects the deal, Israel will have full rights, supported by the US. The plan aims to remove explosive devices from Gaza, establish stable civil administration, and bring long-term stability to the region.
