UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini has stated that Gaza is transforming into a graveyard for children and individuals suffering from starvation. He described the situation as a ‘cruel and Machiavellian scheme to kill.’ This statement comes in the wake of reports indicating nearly 800 deaths at aid centers. According to Gaza’s government office, at least 773 Palestinians have died and 5,101 have been injured since May 27 while seeking food aid distribution. Lazzarini’s comments followed an incident where the Israeli military killed 15 people, including children, who were waiting in line for nutritional supplements. Medical sources confirmed that 45 people were killed on the same day, including 11 near a GHF-run aid center in Rafah. The UN human rights office reported 798 killings near aid points in Gaza between May and July 7. Israeli soldiers and US contractors have admitted to shooting unarmed Palestinians seeking food, according to reports from Israeli and Associated Press news outlets. Carl Skau, deputy executive director of the World Food Programme (WFP), described the situation in Gaza as the worst he has ever witnessed, noting that the WFP has sufficient food to feed the entire population for two months, but trucks are being blocked from entry.
