Following an Israeli strike in Qatar, key Hamas leaders have gone underground. Among those reported to have disappeared are Al-Khalil al-Hayya, Osama Hamdan, and Izzat al-Rishq. These three officials were notably in charge of the Gaza agreement. The disappearance of these Hamas officials has made any talk of a hostage deal problematic, as the US is unable to establish contact with them.
