New Joint Funding Fund Launched for Fundamental Research in Yangtze Delta

During the opening ceremony, the National Natural Science Foundation unveiled a joint funding mechanism co‑managed by Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces. The scheme adopts a unified financing, problem‑definition, management and solution‑seeking approach, earmarking 250 million yuan annually. Over a five‑year period (2027‑2031), the total pool will reach 1.25 billion yuan, aimed at bolstering basic science projects across the delta region.
