Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged the use of “language of force” against Russia, asserting that it’s the only language they understand. In a message on X, he stated that this language must be adopted across all international engagements in the coming months. Zelenskyy expressed high expectations for the upcoming June summits, vowing to ensure the G7 Summit in Canada and the NATO Summit in the Netherlands are not rendered ineffective. He also mentioned important meetings and negotiations slated for Ukraine in the coming weeks. The G7 Summit, hosted by Canada, is scheduled for June 15-17, 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited by the newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to attend the G7 Summit this month. Furthermore, Zelenskyy addressed the failed exchange of prisoners of war, highlighting disagreements between the sides. While Russia claimed Ukraine postponed the exchange, Kyiv refuted these claims. Zelenskyy affirmed Ukraine’s commitment to securing the release of its POWs and the return of fallen soldiers, noting that Russia has yet to provide complete lists for the exchange, as agreed in Istanbul. Zelenskyy also criticized Russia for attempting to manipulate the situation into a political and informational game, stating that Ukraine is doing everything possible to advance the exchange.
