Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for a strong stance against Russia, emphasizing that Russia responds best to the ‘language of force.’ In a message on X, he stated that this approach must be central to all international engagements in the coming months. Zelenskyy expressed his determination to ensure the upcoming June summits, specifically the G7 Summit in Canada and the NATO Summit in the Netherlands, are not unproductive. He highlighted the importance of upcoming meetings and negotiations in Ukraine. Canada is scheduled to host the G7 Summit from June 15-17, 2025. Regarding the failed prisoner exchange, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is working to secure the release of Ukrainian POWs and the return of fallen soldiers. He pointed out that Russia has not provided the full lists for the exchange, as previously agreed in Istanbul. Zelenskyy also accused Russia of attempting to manipulate the situation for political gain, stating that Ukraine is committed to keeping the exchange process moving forward.
