Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has declared that Ukraine is committed to ensuring the upcoming June summits are substantive, not merely symbolic events. He emphasized that Russia only responds to “the language of force.” Speaking via video on X, Zelenskyy stated, “That is precisely the language that must become the working one across all formats of international engagement in the coming months.” He expressed high expectations for the G7 Summit in Canada and the NATO Summit in the Netherlands. The President also commented on the failed prisoner exchange with Russia, criticizing Russia’s actions and asserting Ukraine’s commitment to the release of Ukrainian POWs and the return of fallen soldiers. He accused Russia of manipulating the situation for political gain and information warfare. The G7 Summit will be hosted in Canada from June 15 to 17, 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to attend.
