On the occasion of National Tribal Literature Festival, a three-day handicraft exhibition has been organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur from Tuesday, April 19. 29 stalls of various departments and tribal groups have been put up here. Here people are getting attracted to know about the way of living of the tribes, including their ornaments. There is also a great urge to taste Bastar’s special Chapda Chutney, Mahua Laddu and Page along with the curiosity of the tribal culture. Along with this, the new generation is also excited to know and join the age-old tradition and culture. Handicraft exhibition cum sale has been organized in collaboration with Tribal Research and Training Institute, Chhattisgarh and Government of India, Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Here the ancient handicrafts of the tribes, bamboo art, chhind art, tattoo art, rajwar art, shishal art, mati art and wood art, are being sold and exhibited. Along with this, musical instruments like nangada, dafdi, mandar of tribes, aithi, pahunchi, khinwa, pata, tuma and ancient utensils and tools for cooking, clothes have also been displayed. Various medicinal plants along with herbal products made by tribal women from forest medicines present in the forests of Chhattisgarh have also been displayed in the exhibition. The unique workmanship of Kosa art has also been seen in the exhibition. The taste of the tribal delicacies fascinated the people. Introducing to. Here the old as well as the new generation are also attracted towards Bastariya Doda (Food). People here tasted and appreciated a lot of Landa, Madia Page, Tikhur Ka Sherbet, Chapda Chutney, Mahua Laddu. Along with this, treasures of taste like Chhattisgarhi cuisine typical, Anarsa, Pidiya, Ladu have been kept in the stall of Garh Kaleva. Ancient art and jewelery are also now in fashion. The new generation had stopped wearing the ancient ornaments. Through the exhibition, light weight jewelery is being made available to them along with making them aware about the fashion trends of these jewellery. They are being told that old jewelry is also trending in modern fashion, due to this the trend of the new generation has also increased towards their ancient art and they have started connecting with their culture and art. Kalgi, Jhaling, Farsa, Tumdi, Phundra, Paniya (bamboo comb) made in Ghotul are also displayed in the stall. Abujhmadia Smt. Sitabai Salaam and Smt. Malebai Varda, who came from Asnarayanpur to return to their villages among Naxal-affected forest dwellers, told that the state government has given them training to make bamboo items after their exodus from the Naxal-affected villages. Till now she has sold goods in Chandigarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra. He hoped that one day he or his children would return to their villages and fields. Innovations happening in ancient art with time Ajay Kumar Sidar, who came from Raigad in the stall put up by Tribal Development Department, told that with time innovation has also come in Dhokra craft. Now light utility items are also being made according to the demand of the people. In the exhibition, a pottery stall has also been set up by the Mati Kala Board. In the stall, Mr. Bihari Lal Malik told that there is good demand of pottery due to not having any side effect, due to which potters are also getting good income. Attractive painting of cereals The exhibition also has a stall of beautiful paintings made of grains.
