Chhattisgarh State Electric Vehicle Policy-2022 was approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. With this policy, the citizens of Chhattisgarh will get relief from rising petrol and diesel prices, while participation in keeping the environment clean will be ensured. Chhattisgarh State Electric Vehicle Policy-2022 includes promoting the operation of both commercial and non-commercial electric vehicles. Under this, various discounts and facilities will be available on the purchase of two wheelers, three wheelers, four wheelers, goods carriers, passenger vehicles and other categories of electric vehicles in the state. According to this policy, a network of charging stations will be established to provide easy charging facility for electric vehicles. Charging points will be available to EV owners at a certain distance on national and state highways. In Chhattisgarh State Electric Vehicle Policy-2022, public and private operators will be invited to set up charging and battery swapping stations on national highways and state highways in all cities of the state for public charging infrastructure. Land will be provided for the establishment of these stations at minimum rent. The list of locations for setting up of charging stations will be prepared by the State EV Development Corporation. Petrol pumps (refueling stations) located on highways will be encouraged to set up fast charging stations. Charging infrastructure will be provided under the municipal flyover bridges with free or priority parking for two wheelers. Charging points will also be made in the parking areas of government offices. The applicable electricity tariff for charging stations will be determined by the Electricity Regulatory Commission. Incentives will also be given for converting an old vehicle to an electric vehicle by installing an electric kit. The infrastructure required for charging electric vehicles has also been included in this policy. Under which private and public charging stations can be set up. Residential and non-residential building owners will be encouraged to set up charging stations. Those willing to set up charging points by the state government will be able to buy private charging points with a grant. Reimbursement of expenditure incurred on installation of charging point will be done through electricity bill. Provisions related to charging stations and parking of electric vehicles in housing boards, residential societies, shopping malls and commercial buildings to be formed after the implementation of the policy will be included in the housing policy.
