Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Chairman Shri Vivek Dhand took a meeting of Bankers, Chartered Accountants and Builders. Addressing the meeting held at New Circuit House in the capital, Mr. Dhand said that banks should give priority to only those housing projects which are registered by RERA. Along with this, banks should also provide loans to the consumers on the properties registered with RERA easily and on priority so that the common consumer is saved from the unregistered project. Investing in such unregistered projects is risky. Underlining the importance and implementation of RERA Act, Mr. Dhand said that the real estate sector is increasing day by day in our country, it contributed 6 percent to the country’s GDP, this contribution was 10 percent in the coming 6-7 years. He said that before the formation of RERA, there was a lack of transparency and accountability in the real estate sector of Chhattisgarh, but after its formation the accountability has increased. After the directions of the Central Government and the Supreme Court, the need to regulate the real estate sector was realized, this led to the birth of RERA Act. He said that in the coming years, with the increase in the income of the common people, the housing sector would also increase. RERA has done the work of regularizing the real estate sector so that customers and investors do not face any problem. This has brought transparency in this area. Due to transparency in the real estate sector, credibility has increased in the private sector, due to which the consumers are showing interest in the houses of the private builders as well as the housing board. Mr. Dhand said that this time the Chhattisgarh government is doing many important things to promote the real estate sector. taking steps. The land guidelines have not been increased for the last three years. He said that RERA keeps a close watch on every housing project so that the consumer’s interest remains on the housing board and private sector projects. Projects approved by RERA are considered as quality standards. Mr. Dhand said that prompt action is taken on the complaints of the consumers. So far 1496 complaints have been redressed. Each project is monitored through a RERA designated account. With the help of bankers and CAs, it is ensured that the money transferred to the RERA designated account is used only for the project works. Mr. Dhand also spoke about the importance of Chhattisgarh Awas Yojana (Single Window System). . Earlier it used to take about 18 months to get permission for the project related to it, now permission is given in 6 months.
