Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today inspected the ‘Gandhi Seva Gram’ site in Nava Raipur to be built according to the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi. 75 acres of land has been identified for the Seva Gram to be built in Nava-Raipur. It will be developed as a rural setting. It is noteworthy that Lok Sabha MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi had laid the foundation stone of Gandhi Seva Gram on February 3, 2022 in a program organized at the Science College ground in the capital Raipur. A glimpse of the traditional rural building style of Chhattisgarh will be seen in Seva Gram. Locally available materials will be used in the construction works. The roads here will also be according to the rural environment. The entire area till Seva Gram will be full of greenery. The construction of Seva Gram will be done using natural materials like soil, lime, stone. Centers of Gandhian principles, rural arts and crafts will be developed in Sevagram, where guidance will be given by guest subject-experts. Folk arts of Chhattisgarh will be encouraged here, as well as old age homes and schools for the underprivileged will also be established there. By giving second home to the elderly, there will be facility for ideological exchange. Along with this, there will be a visitors center and a center to remember the principles of Gandhi. Special arts and crafts of Chhattisgarh will also be seen in Seva Gram. Various works here will be decorated with various artistic items using bell metal, iron, terracotta, stone, cloth and bamboo in Bastar, Raigarh and other districts. In ‘Gandhi Seva Gram’, the idea of strengthening the rural economy and self-reliant-village To make this a reality, arrangements will be made for the training of all types of artisans.
