Collector Shri Kuldeep Sharma duly inaugurated the paddy procurement work by offering prayers at the Paddy Procurement Center Sankra and Barhi of Balod block of the district today. He welcomed the farmers who came for the sale of paddy and presented Neem, Mango, Jamun saplings to all the farmers to make the environment green. Collector Shri Sharma inspected the paddy brought by the farmers for sale and also tested the moisture content of the paddy through moisture meter. He said that the farmers coming for the sale of paddy should not face any kind of problem. Arrangement of meeting, drinking water and toilets should be ensured for them. On this occasion, Collector Sharma said that the work of procurement of paddy is one of the important tasks of the state government. He instructed to make all necessary arrangements, maintenance of paddy, transportation etc. in the paddy procurement center on priority. He asked to pay special attention to the quality of paddy, gunny system, stacking, maintenance, safety, lifting and quality of paddy etc. from the beginning of paddy procurement. Giving strict instructions, he said that there should be no complaint of less or more weight of paddy in any center. Collector Shri Sharma informed about getting tokens from farmers from home through Token App for buying paddy and he appealed to more and more farmers to take tokens through App. The Collector, while discussing the shortcomings, difficulties and practical problems of the previous years, also gave instructions to solve them. He said that according to the variety of paddy, their staking should be done. It is noteworthy that under the Kharif marketing year 2022-23 by the state government, the work of purchasing paddy on support price has started from today. He informed that this year paddy procurement work is being done in all 138 paddy procurement centers of the district.
