Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia attended the closing ceremony of the National Seminar on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment. In the workshop, the subject experts from the country and the state discussed the efforts of empowerment of women and girls and the meaningful role of media in them. Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel As a result of this expression program started as per the intention, women in Chhattisgarh are becoming aware about their rights and are feeling safe. The state government is striving for the economic progress of women and special provision has been made in the state budget. Along with this, he also assured of cooperation from the government on the work being done in the direction of upliftment of women. He said that many efforts are being made jointly by the Women and Child Development Department and the Police Department in the state for the protection and security of women. In the workshop, discussions were held to make the expression awareness campaign more effective and on the basis of various suggestions, it was decided to give a new direction to the expression campaign by making an upcoming action plan. The women who succeeded in overcoming the social barriers shared their experiences in the workshop. This workshop was organized jointly under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Police and UNICEF at a local hotel on the occasion of International Women’s Day. In the summary of the activities done in the seminar in the last two days, information was given by Ms. Chetna Desai, Child Protection Specialist of UNICEF. Deputy Inspector General of Police Smt. Himani Khanna threw light on the achievements made by the Police Department in the last one year under the Expression Campaign. The guest and participants of the program were thanked by Senior Superintendent of Police, Mrs. Milena Kurre. The program was conducted by Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ms. Sangeeta Peters. On this occasion Assistant Inspector General of Police Mrs. Pooja Agrawal and Ms. Rama Patel, Ms. Priyanka Sethi of UNICEF and other officers-employees of Police Department were present.
