Chhattisgarh Assembly today passed demands for grants of Rs 987 crore 36 lakh 13 thousand for the financial year 2022-23 for the departments related to Public Health Engineering and Village Industries Minister Guru Rudra Kumar. This includes Rs 869 crore 70 lakh 79 thousand for Public Health Engineering Department and Rs 117 crore 81 lakh 34 thousand for Village Industries Department. Minister Guru Rudrakumar announced that the demands made by the members of the House during the discussion on the demand for grants will be completed soon after conducting an examination. Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudra Kumar, in response to the discussion on the demands for grants, said that pure drinking water is being provided at the rate of 55 liters per person per day in 74 thousand 982 habitations of Chhattisgarh state. The Narva Vikas Yojana under the state government’s ambitious scheme Narva, Garwa, Ghurva and Bari has been highly successful. Due to this the ground water and surface water level has increased. In areas like Bastar and Surguja, where electricity is a problem, arrangements are being made to provide pure drinking water through solar-based tap water scheme in the habitations. He said that the project of Supebeda group water supply in fluoride affected Supebeda is ready. Through this scheme, 9 villages based on Tel river will be provided pure drinking water. Similarly, arrangement of drinking water will be made for 20-22 lakh devotees coming from the country and abroad every year in Giroudpuri Dham. For the Giroudpuri group water supply scheme, drinking water will be supplied by making an intacle on the Mahanadi. Under this group water supply scheme, 2074 domestic tap connections have been approved for supply of pure drinking water to the people of 23 nearby villages. Minister Guru Rudrakumar said that work would be started soon after completing the tender work of 18 group water supply scheme. Minister Guru Rudra Kumar told during the discussion on demand for grants that village industry has played an important role in the rural economy of Chhattisgarh. He said that beneficiary upliftment oriented scheme is being run in rural areas through silk, handloom, Chhattisgarh handicrafts, Khadi and Village Industries and Matikala Board related to village industries.
